Just wanted to encourage people to support our president and his plan for Iraq. People that are against war simply do not understand that there is evil in the world that needs to be confronted at times. People that choose evil will not be persuaded to change their ways by kind words. On Sunday night I watched an Arabic program on public tv. The men on the program said that they do not understand why Americans do not consider Israel to be a terrorist state. These men have made decisions to close their minds to certain facts. Way back in 1900 when Jews began moving back to their old homeland from Russia, Poland, and parts of Europe, the land in Israel they were coming back to was a lot of malaria infested swampland. The Arabs had done nothing with it. Some of the Arab people living there lived peacefully with the Jews; however, many of the Arabs attacked the Jews and killed them. The Arabs never would accept the fact that Jews came back to that land. They were never interested in living side by side with Jews. Nearly every country that has Islamic populations experience violence from segments of that Islamic population. This is simply not true of Jewish people. They have coexisted in America for many many years and have not plotted to blow anything up.

It has come to be evident that anti-war people actually do not care about other people. They only care about themselves. They only care that their own lives are not affected. They did not care when thousands of Kurds were killed by Saddam. Those same people are against the death penalty. They do not care about a victim that was killed. Why they hold the life of a murderer as sacred and worth as much as a murderer is unjust. What a message that sends. By those standards, it doesn't matter what you do. Doing good or doing evil does not count in their eyes. All are equal. Killer and innocent victim are no different. That is wrong.

The truth is that we must succeed in our endeavours in Iraq. Sitting back and naysaying does not help us succeed. Negativity is not a virtue. I hope that at least some in the anti war crowd can find it in their heart to actually hope that America will succeed and the Iraqi people will experience peace and freedom from the terror that Saddam reigned with. Goodwill toward men. Let 2007 be the year!
