PRAY FOR ISRAEL

PRAY FOR ISRAEL TODAY as they fight for their right to exist. Hezbollah has stated their intent to destroy Israel and remove them from existence. God established them as a nation once again (read the Book of Ezekiel, chapter 37), and God will defend them. Let us be found standing with His people, not against them.

Praying the scriptures is a particularly effective way to pray, because we know that it is God's own Word.

KEEP NOT silence, O God; hold not Your peace or be still, O God. For, behold, Your enemies are in tumult, and those who hate You have raised their heads. [Acts 4:25, 26.] They lay crafty schemes against Your people and consult together against Your hidden and precious ones. They have said, Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be in remembrance no more. For they have consulted together with one accord and one heart; against You they make a covenant—the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites,(the Arab people are descendants of Ishmael, and the Koran teaches that Ishmael, not Issaac, was God's chosen one) of Moab and the Hagrites, Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, the Philistines, with the inhabitants of Tyre.Assyria also has joined with them; they have helped the children of Lot [the Ammonites and the Moabites] and have been an arm to them. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! Do to them as [You did to] the Midianites, as to Sisera and Jabin at the brook of Kishon, [Judg. 4:12-24.] Who perished at Endor, who became like manure for the earth. Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, yes, all their princes as Zebah and Zalmunna, [Judg. 7:23-25; 8:10-21.]Who say, Let us take possession for ourselves of the pastures of God. O my God, make them like whirling dust, like stubble or chaff before the wind! As fire consumes the forest, and as the flame sets the mountains ablaze, so pursue and afflict them with Your tempest and terrify them with Your tornado or hurricane. Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek, inquire for, and insistently require Your name, O Lord.Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever; yes, let them be put to shame and perish, (18) That they may know that You, Whose name alone is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth.(Ps. 83 AMP)

Israel's Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger has initiated a worldwide call to prayer on behalf of the Israeli soldiers scheduled for Tuesday at 7 PM (12 noon New York time). It is more than just a prayer service, it is a call to return to God.We too call for the children of Israel to turn their faces and hearts to God and put their trust in Him.

MAY THE Lord answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you up on high [and defend you]; Send you help from the sanctuary and support, refresh, and strengthen you from Zion; Remember all your offerings and accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah [pause, and think of that]! May He grant you according to your heart's desire and fulfill all your plans. We will [shout in] triumph at your salvation and victory, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners. May the Lord fulfill all your petitions. Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. Some trust in and boast of chariots and some of horses, but we will trust in and boast of the name of the Lord our God.They are bowed down and fallen, but we are risen and stand upright. O Lord, give victory; let the King answer us when we call.(Ps. 20 AMP)

Israel's trust is not in their military and its weapons. It is in the name of the Lord their God.

Support of Israel

"Growing tension between the two communities (Arab and Jewish) led to an attack by large crowds of Arabs on idividual, unarmed Jews in the Old City of Jerusalem. Accoding to the subsequent British commission of inquiry, 'large sections of these crowds were bent on mischief, if not on murder'.

When news of the violelnce in Jerusalem reached Hebron, the Jewish school there was attacked, and a Jew killed. A large Arab crowd made what the official British report described as 'a most ferocious attack' on the Jewish Quartar. Within five hours, more than sixty Jews had been killed, including many women and children.

The Arab violence spread rapidly. The kibbutz at Beit Alpha - where the ancient synagogue mosaic had been excavated seven months earlier - was among those that had to beat off Arab attacks. In the village of Motza, just outside Jerusalem, six members of one family were killed, including two children, and their bodies mutilated.

The killing in Palestine came to an end, but the anti-Jewish propaganda continued. A Jerusalem Arab students' leaflet which was widely circulated declared 'O Arab! Remember that the Jew is your strongest enemy and the enemy of your ancestors since olden times. The British were well aware of the nature of Arab propaganda. The officer commanding the British troops in Palestine telegraphed to the War Office in London with details of a manifesto 'full of falsehoods and inflammatory material which has been issued to Moslems in other countries'.
The president of the Arab Executive in Palestine . . . warned a sevior British official that unless the Jewish National Home policy was changed, 'there would be an armed uprising' among the Arabs.. Such an uprising would involve, not only the Arabs of Palestine but 'participation of Moslems from Syria, Transjordan and perhaps Iraq'.

It looked as if the Arab hostility to the Jews would lead to full-scale war. In a further telegram to London, the High Commissioner pointed out that the Arabs of Palestine had recently obtained ' a considerable number of arms' from both Transjordan and the Hedjaz. Further arms were known to have entered the country from Syria."(1)

Believe it or not, these preceeding events took place in 1929! Since the beginning of Jewish Immigration from the lands where they had been dispersed, the Jewish people have had to defend themselves against attacks from those that hate them without cause. Sadly, there have been times that Britain and the U. S. have let Israel down and pressured them to give up land for "peace", when the truth is that some of their neighbors are interested in a type of "peace" that will come only when Israel is cast out of the land entirely. My hope is, that we will no longer believe the lies or bow to the pressures exerted by Israel's enemies. There are people today who believe that lie the Palestinians spread, saying that they are just trying to end the "occupation", as if Israel has instigated their own troubles, or the lie that Israel suppresses, or oppresses the Palestinian people. From the beginning, Jewish settlers were attacked on their own lands. Today, as in the beginning, propaganda is spread thoughout the muslem world inciting hatred and violence.

Simon Dubnow, who later became a distinguished historian, and was killed by the Nazis, believed that the "greatest contribution of the Jews would be in the Diaspora". The work and influence that our Jewish radio hosts are having through the progams on The Patriot Radio Station should not be underestimated. May they continue to educate the public so that we do not fall victim to the lies and propaganda of the anti-semite world and culture.
Christians United for Israel(C.U.F.I.) is asking that we pray Psalm 140 for Israel. They are also asking that we contact our representatives and the White House to urge them to not back down in their support for Israel. The website for C.U.F.I is:
